1. COOPERATIVES AND OIL MILLS OF ALMERIA, Spain
Almeria is a privileged place of Spain for the production of extra virgin olive oil. Let’s see the most important characteristics of this southern region of Spain.
a) Climate
Almeria is a province of Andalusia located in the southeastern corner of the Iberian Peninsula. Furthermore, it has a very lovely landscape and it is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. This region located in the cape of Gata, it has more than 100 km of coast.
Its climate is privileged, and it allows the development of any farming. Also, it stands out for its more than 3 000 hours of sunshine a year and for its constant temperatures, hot and dry summers and mild winters with little rainfall.
c) Varieties
Many varieties are produced in this region: arbequina, hojiblanca, picual and lechín.
d) New harvest
Oils from Almeria are among the first to be produced in Spain, so in early November we usually have oils from Almeria from the new harvest. However, if you want to be sure of the harvest, we recommend that you call us.

2. The best olive oil from Almeria, Spain
Almeria stands out for its spectacular climatic conditions for the production of extra virgin olive oil. Almeria being the place in Spain with the longest hours of sunshine. Likewise, its edaphological characteristics make Almeria a spectacular land to produce olive oil.
