Fantastic ingredients for cosmetics

Cosmética con lavanda

Natural cosmetics, unlike more commercial and sophisticated cosmetics, use natural ingredients that can be found in any supermarket or neighbourhood shop. For the most demanding, in addition to using natural products, demanding that these are organic or organic.

In our shop in Las Rozas in Madrid or online store you can buy a wide variety of natural cosmetics products based on extra virgin olive oil, organic olive oil, raw honey, royal jelly, propolis, bee venom and aloe vera. Among the cosmetic products you will find: creams, shampoos, anti-fall products, body lotions, etc..

However, if your decision is to make your own cosmetics, here we will give you some recipes for you to make them, using natural products that we all have in our kitchen.

Among the products that we can use, we are going to detail the following ones:

Raw honey:

Raw honey is one of the most commonly used natural products in the production of natural cosmetics, as honey is rich in enzymes, vitamins and fatty acids, all of which provide enormous beneficial properties to the skin.

Among the beneficial properties we highlight are: its fantastic moisturizing and antioxidant power that helps delay the effects of aging, leaving the skin smooth and young, ie an anti-wrinkle effect and anti-aging. Its bactericidal and fungicidal properties leave the skin clean and free of infections, helping to heal wounds and burns. Honey creates a film on the burn or wound with optimal conditions of moisture and antiseptic allowing complete regeneration of the skin without leaving marks. Finally, honey combats allergies, skin rashes and relieves itching.

We always recommend using quality honey when making natural cosmetics, that is, raw or pure and better if it is ecological. A honey of this type has greater properties than commercial honeys that have been handled by pasteurization processes. Among all of them, the most beneficial properties are heather honey, manuka and thyme.

Apple vinegar

Another great product we usually have at home that is very versatile for skin care is apple vinegar. Apple vinegar has powerful cleansing, protective and anti-fungal properties, which help to rebuild the dermis and keep it healthy. Vinegar is rich in acetic acid, numerous vitamins and minerals; potassium and magnesium, providing nutrients to the skin.

We recommend using apple vinegar to treat acne problems and as a skin and hair cleansing agent.

Extra virgin olive oil

This is another of the natural products that provide enormous benefits to our skin. Extra virgin olive oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and monounsaturated fatty acids. Antioxidants block free radicals, keeping our skin younger. Vitamins and fatty acids hydrate the skin, leaving it smoother and younger.

We always recommend using a good extra virgin olive oil of the year, especially the variety cornicabra and picual, which are the ones that have higher amounts of antioxidants.  If the oil is ecological much better, so that it does not contain any chemical residue nor insecticide.

Sea salt

Sea salt, especially the flower of salt which contains the greatest amount of minerals and nutrients. Never the refined salt that has been removed almost all its nutrients and minerals and that has been added antipelmazantes.

Sea salt is rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium, which will be very beneficial in maintaining a healthy and nourished skin, protecting and restoring skin cells.

Sea salt has enormous anti-inflammatory properties, acts as an exfoliant helping to eliminate dead cells, maintains the balance of fat in the skin, balancing its production and controlling optimal moisture levels.

Water

Our body is made up of 70% water, a percentage that decreases with age. For the proper functioning of our body and the maintenance of a healthy, shiny and smooth skin is essential to drink frequently. According to experts, we should drink up to 2 litres of water, even in winter, even if the body does not ask us to. In summer is even more important hydration, because with heat waves can give us a heat stroke.

The water in the care of the skin and the hair is fundamental, because it acts as solvent of soaps and shampoos, which allows to drag all the dirt adhered to them. We should always use plenty of water to wash away all soap and dirt.

We recommend always using cold or warm water and do not abuse the hot, because the latter drags the lipid layer of our skin and breaks its balance.

Natural Alcohols

There are some alcohols that are distilled in a natural way without using chemical products, which are soluble in water and act as preservatives, including natural ecological alcohols. One of them is cetearyl alcohol or cetostearyl alcohol, which is very useful for the production of different natural creams, because it gives them consistency and acts at the same time as a preservative. Another alcohol with bactericidal and allergenic properties that also acts as a preservative is benzyl alcohol.

The cosmetics we offer are 100 percent natural from certified laboratories and different Spanish companies, which are as follows: The Castillo de Peñalver brands produce a wide range of cosmetic products made with honey, royal jelly, organic and conventional olive oil, aloe vera and natural oils. Among the wide range of products it manufactures we find moisturising, regenerating, anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing face, hand and nail creams, soaps, shampoos for all types of hair, anti-layer, anti-fall, lip protectors, body milks, etc. Another company we work with is Cosmética olivo, which offers a reduced range of cosmetic products made with extra virgin olive oil. Finally, we work with Hair Concept, which offers us a fantastic anti-fall shampoo and a strengthener.
