1. Characteristics of the Arbequina variety

a) Production areas
This very demanded variety can be found in all provinces of Spain with oil production. However, this variety is more predominant in the northern province of Catalonia and the Community of Aragon.
b) Other local names
The name Arbequina has been taken from its area of origin, Alberca, a village located in the province of Lérida, in Catalonia. The arbequina variety is also called “Blancal”.
c) Oil
The extra virgin olive oil that comes from the arbequina olive tree and it stands out for its fruity taste, little bitterness. In tasting, you can also appreciate notes of apple, sweet almond and freshly cut grass aromas. It is one of the most aromatic olive oils from Spain. For this reason, it is very popular and demanded.
